REPAIRS
5/10/19
I am still in the process of retiring from repairs.
I have many creative explorations to attend to, and I am a one-person show.
If you have a broken layout and would like to continue having the benefit of its support, please consider purchasing a new one.
The repair may cost nearly as much.
For as long as possible…..
I will repair stretched layouts that are still intact (wire or elastic is not broken).
I will repair necklaces on which only the clasp has broken, but the rest of the necklace is intact.
If you have a custom necklace that is broken, contact me and I will tell you if I can repair it.
If a layout breaks within 2 months of purchase, and you feel that you have collected all (or most) of the beads, I will do my best to repair it.
If you ship layouts to me for repair, it is my discretion whether they can be repaired, to advise replacing it, or to charge the price of a new one to rebuild the layout. If a layout cannot be repaired, the stones will not be returned unless return postage is provided.
If time and circumstances permit me to repair your layout, here is the current price schedule.
Repair prices vary depending on the condition of the layout and the stones.
Repair of a stretched necklace starts at $22. Repair of a broken necklace starts at $25.
Repair of a stretched bracelet or anklet starts at $10
There may be additional charges for missing/damaged stones, or if the layout needs cleaning due to accumulation of lotions, oils, or sweat on the stones.
Follow the Recharging Instructions for care of your layouts, and they should last a good bit of time.
Q. I have some jewelry-making supplies. Is it okay if I restring or re-size my layout?
A. No. Unfortunately, if the wire or elastic is cut or broken, the program contained within the layout is lost, and the layout will not work as intended. When I repair a layout, I restring it and reprogram it for you. If you simply want the benefit of the stones, with out the program, then it is fine to restring it yourself. One Exception: If you have one of the long Pain Relief Necklaces that is strung on fishing line and it breaks, you can restring it on 20 lb. or 30 lb. fishing line, repeating the pattern as well as you can (it doesn't have to be perfect). Then send an email to me telling me that you have restrung the necklace. I will reprogram it long distance at no charge to you.
Q. Can I put a different kind of clasp on my necklace, like a lobster claw or magnetic clasp?
A. No, please do not put a magnetic clasp on your necklace! Magnets can be disruptive to the flow of energy from your layouts, causing them to work much harder, and break much more easily. Please keep your layouts away from magnets. ALSO, there is a reason that I use the kind of clasps that I do - screw-type clasps, or toggle clasps. Because the necklaces are moving energy through the stones to serve you, they must be able to fall off if they are being overworked, so that they don't feedback on you.The screw-type and toggle clasps allow this to happen. Any other type of clasp does not. If your necklace clasp is coming undone, it means the necklace needs to be recharged or that the clasp has blown out from an energy hit and the necklace needs to be repaired.
